Colin Tyler is a singer-songwriter of a formidable lyrical and melodic calibre channeling his guitar-based songs into folk rock, progressive rock and folk pop arrangements with a lyrical depth that echoes none other than Bob Dylan and an eclectic, often symphonic sound that brings to mind the music of Ed Sheeran or Coldplay. Colin started writing songs as he embarked on a professional career and his life experience has given his songs greater depth and authenticity than a lot of the newcomers busily trumpeting how "real" they are. Having previously formed a rock band called Silent Frenzy and performed at countless venues over several years, all the while pursuing his office job, he is now focusing on a new vision for his music while channeling the skills gained in his professional life into writing on various assignments. He released an album Tin Can World in 2022 which is testament to the catchiness of his songs and lyrical insight, and is now releasing new songs and videos with a view to having a full length album out in early 2023. His new single, Julian, slated for release on 28 June, is an incredibly ambitious attempt to convey the life story of Julian Assange in the form of a fast-paced song and is reminiscent of Bob Dylan's mid-career defining "Hurricane".
